The Chinese government is thinking about an arrangement that would have Elon Musk get TikTok’s U.S. activities to keep the application from being successfully prohibited, Bloomberg News revealed Monday.
The emergency course of action is one of a few choices China is investigating as the U.S. High Court decides if to maintain a regulation that calls for China-based ByteDance to strip TikTok’s U.S. business by Jan. 19, the report said, refering to unknown sources.
After that cutoff time, outsider web access suppliers would be punished for supporting TikTok’s activities in the country.
Under the arrangement, Musk would direct both X, which he as of now claims, and TikTok’s U.S. business, Bloomberg said. Notwithstanding, Chinese government authorities haven’t yet settled on whether it would continue, the report said, it is as yet primer to take note of the arrangement.
It’s hazy whether ByteDance is familiar with the Chinese government’s arrangements and TikTok and Musk’s association in the conversations, the report said. Last week, the High Court held oral contentions about the law possibly restricting TikTok, which President Joe Biden endorsed in April.
