Google Gemini introduces Audio Overview, Canvas features

The Gemini team at Google has announced the availability of two brand-new features: Canvas and Audio Overview. The purpose of these cutting-edge tools is to provide new ways to interact with documents and coding projects while also enhancing the user experience. GSM Arena says that Audio Overview is a feature that lets two AI hosts present audio podcasts from uploaded documents. All Gemini users, regardless of their subscription plan, now have access to this technology, which was first introduced in Google’s NotebookLM. However, it is only available in English at the moment, and “soon” support for additional languages is promised. To create an Audio Overview, users simply need to upload documents or slides on a variety of topics and click the suggestion chip that appears above the prompt bar. The podcast, according to GSM Arena, will be produced in a matter of minutes and can be shared, downloaded, and accessed on the web and mobile app with ease. Audio Overview is suggested by Google for use in Deep Research reports, email threads, class notes, and research papers. In addition to Audio Overview, Gemini is also introducing Canvas, an interactive space designed to simplify the process of creating, refining, and sharing work.
Gemini’s feedback makes it simple for Canvas users to create high-quality first drafts and perfect their work. Gemini provides quick editing tools to adjust tone, length, and formatting, making it ideal for seamless collaboration.
Once the work is complete, users can export the Canvas to Google Docs with a single click.
Canvas also supports coding, streamlining the process of transforming coding ideas into working prototypes for web apps, Python scripts, games, and simulations.
Students can utilize Canvas to learn coding concepts, and developers can quickly create initial working versions of their projects. Canvas is being rolled out worldwide to all Gemini and Gemini Advanced users in all languages, according to GSM Arena. By selecting Canvas from the prompt bar, users can test it. Google’s commitment to innovation and enhancing the user experience is demonstrated by these new features. Gemini hopes to change the way we interact with documents and coding projects by introducing Audio Overview and Canvas. (ANI)
